About Shayla

I am a mom of 2 in Arvada, Colorado and am looking to care for another child in my home, part-time. I am not available on Mondays as I work for myself, as a private practice mental health therapist. Tues-Fri, I'm available all day and can be flexible with my time. My daughters are 21 and 4 months old, and it would be ideal to care for a child around the same age as my oldest. I tend to take a Montessori-like approach to childcare, encouraging my own children to explore and play in a hands-on, experiential manner, while I am present to ensure safety. We spend a lot of time outdoors and paying attention to all five senses, going to the library, local parks and rec centers. We do not watch TV or do other forms of screen time, and I take a, "whole food" approach to eating. I have extensive experience as a babysitter and nanny both in the Denver area and in Chicago, Illinois.
