About Shayla

I hired Shayla to work one month as I just started a new job and was looking for someone dependable to watch my 5 and 3 year old. After the month, I had asked if she would like the opportunity to continue watching my children and she agreed. Things were going well until my daughter got sick which I later found out was due to Shayla being sick with bronchitis and not notifying us, something she had admitted via text message. This was not right especially with Covid going on. Over the next two weeks, my other daughter got sick, as well as me and my mom, who was the last to get it. Me thinking it was bronchitis I didn't see the need to get Covid tested but my mom took the initiative to get tested and was positive. Although there's no way to prove Shayla brought Covid into the home because no one else got tested when they were sick including Shayla, there was no one else my daughter interacted with outside of the people who live in our house. I didn't blame Shayla but just asked if she could notify us when she feels sick from now on and she said would return the next week when everyone in the house tested negative. I messaged her saying everyone was negative including my mom, and no reply. The day came that she was supposed to come in and she didn't show up as well as any other time after that. It was a disappointment that she never communicated since flaking on us and she is not someone I would recommend to be dependable, honest, and professional.
