About Shayla

Empowering elementary students to reach their full potential is the core of my teaching practice. I believe every learner possesses unique strengths, and my goal is to foster a genuine love for learning rather than simple memorization. By actively listening and observing how a student interacts with new material, I tailor my methods to fit their specific needs. When concepts feel challenging, I bridge the gap by connecting lessons to personal interests and breaking complex problems into manageable steps. I maintain a collaborative environment through consistent communication with parents, ensuring we celebrate every small success together. Whether we meet at a library, community center, or online, I am dedicated to building the confidence your child needs to thrive. Seeing a student master a new skill and gain academic independence is the most rewarding part of my day, and I look forward to supporting your child's unique journey.
