I love being a care giver, especially with children. I love learning and nurturing children's curiosity. I am particularly good at connecting with babies, toddlers and young children. I have extensive experience teaching online and working in online classrooms. I also worked in elementary and high schools for a couple years in South America teaching English as a foreign language. I have taught in language institutes with preschool ages and adults. I speak English and Spanish fluently. I have a Bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri. I also have reliable transportation and I don't mind driving kids places, like picking them up from school or dropping them off.

We had our baby in June 2020 and in the panic of the pandemic needed a nanny for when I had to go back to work. We hired Shawny to care for our then 3 month old. She was so wonderful! She took great care of him and was so sweet with him. She also was happy to listen to our requests (eg nap times, routines, etc) and followed through on them every time. She became so much a part of our family that she ended up baking his first birthday cupcakes (complete with Sandra Boynton dinosaur decorations)! We miss Shawny and feel so grateful she was a part of our chaotic unprecedented first year with our baby.
