About Shawn

Hello there! My name is Shawn . If you are looking for someone who absolutely loves working with and developing children, you have come to the right person! I have extensive background in child development. I've worked as an after school teacher, with classes like creative writing, music, and acting. From that position, I was promoted to site director of the program where I was head of 4 staff and 70+ children. I am a behavior therapist with 5+ years experience working with children with special needs, more specifically Autism and the varying spectrum disorders. I have experience with non-verbal children who use AAC devices, children with maladaptive behaviors, PICA, ADD and ADHD. I lead with passion and care, with their humanity at the forefront of my mind at all times. Patience is key, and I understand that hall behaviors have a driving force behind them and I make it my priority to always understand what the child is trying to communicate!
