About Shawnee

Hi! I have a degree in early childhood education, with an emphasis in ages birth to 3. I worked at a childcare center for 2 years before doing my student teaching in a public school preschool. I spent the majority of my time at the childcare center as the headteacher in the nursery, working with children from 6 weeks to 8 months. I created lesson plans that included fine and gross motor activities, books, crafts, sensory experiences, and songs. I also documented their daily schedules, handled feedings, diaper changes, and naps. Before working in the nursery, I also worked with children 8 months to 8 years old. I love caring for children because they are so excited about learning and make so much progress in so little time.
