I am the oldest of three in my family. I took on babysitting at age 13, and my love for working with kids has only grown. I went in to working for an in-home daycare/preschool for three and half years. I loved everything about it. Ages ranged from 2 months to 12 years old. I taught preschool in the morning. This is where my love for teaching has grown, seeing first hand how much kids under two can learn. I also taught baby sign language and helped with after school homework. On the other side, I feel making sure kids get enough exercise is just as vastly important. About a 16 years ago, I started thinking about going as a nanny. I feel my skills would be put to even better use in a small group, or one on one. I struggled with not having enough time with each child. My ideal job is working with kids under 6, helping to raise and get them ready or ahead for school. Don't worry though, I believe learning should be lots of fun. My communication skills are strong

Shawndea is an incredible person! There aren't enough words to describe her dedication and fondness towards her job. She has literally raised our child, and we have heavily relied on her expertise for guidance to inculcate good habits, manners, patience and affection in him. She became part of our family in a very short period of time, so much so that everyone knows Shawndea even in our extended family! She is very respectful towards the specific needs of the child and family, and makes extra efforts to incorporate each requirement into the routine. She includes balanced outdoor and indoor activities for the child and is actively engaged in their growth and development. She really takes care of the child as her own. We are beyond fortunate to have found her and for her to take us on.
