I have roughly 16 years of experience supporting older adults, from my work as a DSP for folks with physical and/or developmental disabilities, to my career as a Mental Health Therapist and Addictions Counselor*. I'm comfortable providing companionship, helping with daily routines, running errands, providing transportation, and simply being a dependable and supportive presence. I'm patient, attentive, trauma informed, and respectful of each person's independence and preferences. I understand that good care isn't just about helping with tasks, it's also about building trust, providing companionship, and helping someone feel comfortable and respected. I'm happy to work with families to understand what kind of support their loved one needs and what routines work best for them. *My professional background includes behavioral health and therapy, but the care I provide through Care. com is non-clinical and focused on companionship, practical support, transportation, and daily assistance.
