About Shawna

I grew up in Nebraska with my mother having an in-home daycare. There, I worked after school and during the summer(from age 10 or 11 till 19 when I moved to California). I nannied for a few summer breaks and worked for a group home for mentally disabled teens and adults. Once I moved to California I worked at a daycare in a 24 Hour Fitness. I then nannied for a child from 14months till about 2 and a half. He sadly (for me) went to Montessori School full time. I then jumped back into working with adults with disabilities. I missed working with kids so I combined the two and nannied for twins, one who is severely autistic. They no longer needed me so I moved on to working at an elementary school in a class with children with moderate to severe disabilities with health fragility. I have experience with g-tube feedings, seizures, asthma, wheel chairs and other equipment. I'm looking to change my job direction to nannying now.

Shawna was our caregiver to my twin son and daughter from age 9-12. She picked them up from school, prepared snacks, and also helped prepped meals for us. She took the kids on outings to the parks and beaches, played dolls, played water activities, and just kept them engaged and entertained. She helped put them to sleep and really just became a part of our family. We had some really hard times with my son but she stood by with us and him and helped us more than she may ever know. Shawna was reserved when we first worked with her but as time went on, we saw the most lovely, caring, funny, and compassionate person. She is truly one of a kind.
