I am a teacher licensed in Moderate Special Education K-8 as well as Severe. Most of my experience has been with students with severe cognitive delays, profound behavioral issues, and complex medical conditions. I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents with special needs. Over the past 20 years, I have worked with students in both one-on-one and group settings, utilizing programs such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to support academic, social/emotional, and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) learning. I have worked with BCBAs, Occupational therapists and other specialized providers. I have worked with non-verbal students using both Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECS) as well as American Sign Language. I have also worked in home providing respite care as well as consulting on IEP development.
