About Sharon

I'm a college writing teacher who enjoys helping students of all ages improve their writing, reading, and critical thinking skills. I have more than 15 years of experience as a teacher and have tutored high school and college students individually online or on campus. I am kind, patient, and a good listener. I enjoy helping students of all ages discover their strengths and achieve those aha moments. I'm looking for a job that offers flexibility and harnesses my skills as a teacher. I started tutoring when I was teaching at Maine Community colleges and the University of Maine system. In my spare time, I like to travel, go on hikes, play trivia games, spend time with my family and hang out with my kitty. I'm easy to talk with, patient and kind. I focus on a student's strengths and encourage them to take next steps to polish their work. I use a strength-based approach, ask questions to help the student develop critical thinking skills, and encourage curiosity
