About Sharon

Hi! I am a professional musician by training, but I've always enjoyed working with young children. When COVID occurred and music jobs became harder to come by, I worked full-time in a childcare center with infants and toddlers. I found that I loved working with babies and young children, so even as music jobs became available again, I continued to work part-time in childcare. I especially love caring for infants, and have a lot of patience and empathy for those precious little ones. I have some training in the RULER method of social and emotional intelligence education for young children, and apply it even with the youngest of infants. I also love to do music and movement with any children in my care, and you'll often find me singing and swaying according to Edwin Gordon's Music Learning Theory in a way research has shown helps infants and young children optimize their music aptitude.
