Hello - My name is Shannon and I live and breathe education! I graduated from the Loyola School of Education in May 2016 with a degree in Secondary Education and Mathematics, receiving my teaching credentials for grades 6-12 in mathematics and an endorsement in ESL education. While in college, I worked as a tutor and mentor in a program called Algebra Boot Camp, which focused on giving students the tools and confidence needed to be successful in high school mathematics. I have about 10 years of classroom teaching experience. I started my career teaching 7th and 8th grade math and writing at a CPS school in Lakeview. For the past 5 years, I have been teaching 7th and 8th grade math and Algebra 1 in a middle school in Northfield. I strive to make every lesson as student centered and engaging as possible so that students are making connections organically and in a way that shows them different approaches to a problem.
