I started working with special needs in 2016 as a Dsp I did hourly shifts . I then became a house manager which requires managing 3 homes. The clients I cared for then had gram al seizures, cerebral palsy- Mentally in cognitive . I handled staffing coordinations, managed finances, on call shifts, supervising, medical appointments. Until 2021 I decided to transfer to live in for special needs . I worked with Down syndrome, and higher functioning clients that I could teach them safety and independence and help advance them in life. I've only worked with mostly young adults. And 2 clients were seniors. I really enjoy making a difference in people's lives and I strive to do well and succeed. Also , my significant other has cerebral palsy so I really enjoy doing what I do.
