I love working with special needs. I grew up volunteering in elementary school during lunch and recess to help special needs kids eat their lunch and do constructive play. I noticed other kids treated them differently and I couldn't understand why. It wasn't until I got older I realized that many don't have the patience or compassion to spend time with someone who needs extra attention or calm understanding, someone who will talk to them like a normal person and treat them with respect as a confident and friend.
