Hi, my name is Shania! I am 28 and have a BS is psychology from Allegheny College. Prior to this, I was a behavior specialist for adults with disabilities in a residential setting for two years, then have been a recovery/service coordinator on Allegheny county's Dual Diagnosis Treatment team for individuals with ID and acute mental health care needs for the last two years. I found my way to this field through a summer job as a camp counselor, then camp coordinator and program coordinator at the Woodlands Foundation in Wexford. I've loved my job and the clients I've worked with but am looking for more of a hands-on position working with an individual/family long term versus temporary intensive services geared toward supporting an agency/team.
