I started my Care journey in 2019, and began in the Memory Care unit of a facility before moving on to private in-home care. What stood out to me immediately about this line of work was that it gave me the opportunity to connect with people in a way that transcends just business. It's about helping families and making a difference in people's lives. You just can't find that anywhere else. Some relevant skills and tendencies include: 1) Strong and Clear communication with the Client, ensuring that they are involved in decisionmaking at all times. 2) Ensuring that Client needs are properly carried-out while minimizing the degree of effort or strain required from them (such as difficult Toileting or Showering tasks). 3) Prioritizing emotional as well as physical needs, so the Client feels valued and respected at all times. f
