I have been caring for children since I was 15 years old. I have babysat a wide variety of ages and have been a nanny for big and small families. Over the years, I have helped raise children, look after them, tutor, cook, take them to functions, and give them the best care possible. As far as discipline goes, the root of the word discipline is disciple. Disciple means to learn or to be a student. I think that is how disciple should work, as a learning experience, not getting angry about the situation. A child will learn more if you explain why they are in trouble, instead of sitting them in timeout without a word other than no or showing anger about the situation. One family I was a nanny for , I took care of a premature baby who was sick. I had to give the infant medicine every 4 hours. I have experience monitoring medicine and caring for children that are ill. I have also cared for a child with a learning disability. I have cared for up to four children at the same time in a home setting, and at the nursery I work at currently, we care for anywhere from 1 to 12 children at a time ( infant- 5 years of age).
