About Shaleta

Hi! My name is Ms. Chatman. I am an elementary school teacher (15 years). I believe everybody should have an opportunity to learn how to read at a high level of fluency. I also understand that some people need to learn in different ways. That is why I am currently pursuing my Orton-Gillingham certification to help students with dyslexia or general reading challenges. If you have a student in the 2nd-6th grades who is struggling to read, I can help! I'd describe my personality as patient, fun, goal-oriented I like tutoring because I believe that all students can learn with the right approach. I'm looking for a job with motivated students & families who are ready to do the work to build the literacy skills needed to be a fluent reader. Because I am pursuing my OGA certification, I am also looking for a family who does not mind my mentor instructor observing a handful of our sessions over the next year.
