My grandson is autistic, low functioning non-verbal. He can be aggressive at times. We wanted someone who understood how to handle that and comminicate with him on his level. Shelly was amazing, the times he got aggressive, she was able to reset him with minimal push back from him. She was also very good at getting him to communicate using his words or his tablet. He prefers talking and she worked with him alot. When she would knock on the door he would open it and say her name. He never did that with anyone outside of myself, his mom and his dad. She was calm, understanding, playful and encouraged him to do things on his own. When you have a child that can not fully communicate and they have someone who understands them and helps them to articulate their needs it's a game changer. That is what Shelly was to us.
