Having Shakirah care for my grandma was one of the best decisions our family has ever made, and I genuinely mean that. She treated my grandma with such respect, kindness, and genuine concern from the very beginning. My grandma is picky with people and she took a real liking to Shakirah right off the bat. Shakirah took the time to learn her routines, comfort her when she was confused, and made her feel safe and cared for. What particularly stood out was the patience and calm that Shakirah always carried, even on the tougher days with my grandma. I remember this one time when grandma was having a rough morning with her dementia—Shakirah sat down with her, took her hand, and just calmly talked her through it. It was just this really beautiful moment of care she displayed there. She also kept our whole family up to date, always letting us know how things were going and making suggestions when we needed them. You can really tell how experienced she is doing this. She was dependable, thoughtful, and went above and beyond—not because she had to, but because of the caring person she clearly is. If you need someone to make your loved one feel like family, I couldn't possibly recommend Shakirah more. We felt so lucky to have her!!
