About Shakirah

Hi! I'm a college student majoring in kinesiology with a passion for working with children. I've always had a natural connection with kids and have years of hands-on experience caring for them. Over the summer, I babysat my two younger cousins, ages 3 and 6, while their parents worked full-time. I've also worked as a summer camp counselor, leading games and activities for kids in a structured, fun environment. At my college, I currently work at the Child Development Lab, where I assist in a classroom. I have 15 nieces and nephews! I've been the go-to babysitter. I'm dependable, energetic, and caring, and I love creating safe, positive spaces where kids can learn and be themselves. Outside of childcare, I'm a dancer and very active. I enjoy incorporating movement, creativity, and learning into the time I spend with children. Working with kids brings me so much joy.
