About Shakia

As a young girl growing up, I love tending to children. At the young age of 13 I went to Central America with my mentor and helped put on a week long summer camp for less fortunate children. After graduating from college in May 2014, majoring in Criminal Justice, I still had a passion for children. Due to still having a passion for children, I became a French teacher assistant part-time in the summer and an Full-time Teacher's Assistant. Presently, I am a Teacher for Prince George's County Public Schools System. I worked with an non-profit organization geared towards foster care children for several years, I'm a big sister in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization, and work one-on-one with students who seek assistance in multiple learning areas. I still nanny in my spare time. I really enjoy time with children and the excitement they bring.
