About SELENA

Since I was around 13 years old, I regularly accompanied my mom to her nanny job, where she cared for two young children. Over time, I became actively involved in helping her care for them -- including feeding, diaper changes, and keeping them engaged through play and activities, which included taking walks with their stroller. Being part of their daily routine gave me hands-on experience in early childhood care, and I formed a strong connection with the children. I still remember their first words, which were in Spanish rather than English -- a meaningful moment that reflected the diverse environment they were growing up in, even though their parents primarily spoke English. This experience taught me the importance of patience, communication, and creating a nurturing space for children to grow.
