About Selena

I am a currently enrolled at Concordia University of Texas with the desire to become nurse. Growing up I loved to babysit on my free time away from soccer where I played year round for 12 year. During Covid, I cared for 3 children of the ages 2, 5, and 11. I was able to maintain schoolwork, providing meal, and caring for the children from 9-5, 4 days a week. I have also completed the 3 year education pathway at South Medford Highschool in Medford OR, my hometown. Through the education program, I gained passion for teaching to young children. I was given the opportunity to build lesson plans as well as classroom experience by teaching at elementary schools nearby. I also have 4 credits worth of practicum hours in a 3rd grade classroom as I wanted to be a teacher before switching to nursing. I have also participated in working as a teachers aid during summer school!
