I have been a working nanny for more than 12 years now. I work with families for an average of 3-5 years and ages newborn to 7 years. My most recent job, which will end on August 7th l started working with them prior to the birth of their newborn in helping with their older son who was 4 at the time. That newborn will be 2 next month and they are wanting him to go to preschool and become more socialized and more verbal. In this job I took care of the baby and did laundry dishes as well as feeding and diapering. I have worked with a child who had Down Syndrome. That family I started working with when she was 5 months old and stayed with them until she was over 3 years. The baby had a feeding tube which I quickly learned to take care of and she had heart surgery as well as tubes put in her ears. I worked with several other families in a variety of situations.
