About Sara

Hello! I'm Sara. I have my Bachelors in Elementary and Special Education 1-6 and and my Masters in Literacy birth-6. I have been teaching 16 years. The bulk of my experience has been providing reading and math intervention and special education for students with various learning needs. I have tutored students throughout this time with different academic and behavioral needs and I am flexible with tutoring location. I like to start with learning about each child I work with by simply talking with them individually and with their parents to learn more about their general likes, dislikes and academic strengths and areas of need. When possible, and if families are comfortable, I try to connect with each child's teacher(s) so I can have their input as well as far as academic strengths and areas for growth. As well, I like to have the opportunity to do pre-assessments in the subject area(s) families would like their child to receive support in order to plan specific targeted instruction.
