Enter a zip code to get matched with caregivers that meet your needs
I'd describe my personality as attentive, creative, and patient. I love interacting with kids and meeting them where they're at. I like caring for people with special needs because I have an adult special needs brother. I'm looking for a job that is longterm where I can build a genuine connection with both the child/teen and their family over time. I started caring for people with special needs when I was hired for Kern County Superintendent of Schools in 2015. I started as a substitute instructional aide and worked with a variety of students ages three through 14. I got hired on permanent as an aide in 2018 and worked in mostly Autism based classrooms until very recently. I now work in a classroom with visually impaired/blind students. My skills include cooking simple meals and I'm willing to adhere to dietary needs of each child. I'm comfortable with toileting/diaper changing as needed. And I'm an attentive/active listener and take the time to make each child feel loved.
