I have been in positions of short term pet sitting while friends and family have been on vacation and also long term pet sitting in home for those that have not wanted to leave pets alone for 12+ hours while they are at work. I am willing and comfortable with taking (younger or older) pets on needed walks, feeding and play time or simply spending some time on the couch with them. I will ensure that if you can't be there all the time to give the attention that you know your pet needs, I can be the second best thing!
