Caring for others runs in my family. My grandmother built an addition onto her farmhouse and took care of three different women over an 11 year span after she was widowed. Our farms were next to each other and I would go to her house every day after school and play cards (canasta) and help with dinner and generally be a pest. In high school I took the CNA course offered at our local hospital and began working as a CNA when I was 16, mostly working on the geriatric wing. I then moved to Vermont and worked in a Nursing Home.
After a career in sales I went back to home health care by way of my mother's terminal illness. I find that I am good at making people feel comfortable, anticipating needs, listening and generally caring for what makes a person happy. I enjoy cooking and have cooked professionally in different settings. I am all about running a home smoothly and efficiently and making those I care for comfortable while having an enjoyable time doing it.
