About Sarah Grace

Growing up in a large family, caregiving was the responsibility of everyone. From the age of 10 I was volunteering in the church nursery and babysitting my nieces and little sisters. As a college student at The UT, I became a nanny for a young boy with Cerebral Palsy, and his two siblings. Then later I was an attendant for a young adult woman who was completely immobile while we went to graduate classes together for social work in addition to being a teaching, writing, and research assistant at the college. I was with both families for years. Six months ago, I left Austin to move home to help my youngest sister raise her toddler and newborn and assist my now elderly parents with day to day tasks and doctors. Additionally these past six months, I have volunteered at a local school for summer camps and day to day learning engagement. While I have enjoyed all of these things, the time has come for me to begin working outside of the family at least part time.
