hi there I have 5 years of experience. I'm looking for something on the more consistent side, I believe it's important to bond and build trust with the children I care for. I can help with housekeeping and grocery shopping and do not mind doing other tasks if asked of me. I grew up in a large family with lots of animals, big and small, so not much bothers me. I can teach little ones sign language to help with communication skills. I'm big on staying active, whether that's going for walks, playing games, or drawing. I grew up taking care of my 5 siblings, so I'm very good in high stress environments.
Sarah accepted the position to be our nanny for 30 hours a week, 5 days a week at the beginning of July to start last week. She didn't even work a full week before texting us that she had accepted a "better" position that would be starting immediately. We released her immediately as this is inappropriate, irresponsible and selfish. She worked only one week for us where she showed up for 4 of the 5 days that she had agreed which was already inconvenient. She lacked the courtesy of communicating that she was looking for a new job so that we could prepare ourselves for the week/weeks ahead with no childcare. As she knows that we are both working parents, her actions left us completely scrambling, having to take days off of work in order to accommodate her actions. Her time when she was here was fine, my 2 year old liked her enough. She however spent a lot of time on the phone, took a phone call outside leaving my 2 year old unattended in the play room. Took a call while pushing my 2 year old on the swing. We explicitly shared our desire for limited/no screen time, as well as engaged play and yet on her last day the TV was on for hours so that she could attend to her own personal business. We wish her well. Her message inspired us to release her immediately as we were already not too happy with the service we were receiving. As a previous nanny myself, I would have never done this.
