I am a part-time youth librarian who loves kids, the arts, adventures outside, and learning! I have been babysitting for over 15 years, have tutored all subjects (including math, reading, writing, and poetry), was a camp counselor at both outdoor ed. and vocal performance summer camps, and worked in a first grade classroom. I am positive, playful, calm, and responsible, and after spending two years planning activities and events for youth, I know how to engage kiddos and manage challenging behavior. I am a singer, and so I am very interested in encouraging children to participate in the arts, including music, drawing, reading, and writing. I have my own car and would love to either play at home or go on adventures in the surrounding area. I have the most experience with ages 2-13, though I have babysat newborns & children up to 13 years old (18 @ the library!), including those with special needs. Sarah worked for us consistently for over a year caring for our toddler. She was kind, patient, and nurturing. She tuned into my son's needs and held space for him when he cried. I felt comfortable giving her my car to take him on adventures to parks, the library, bike riding, the parents center, potlucks, etc. I also felt comfortable having her in my home with is very important to me. It was obvious that Sarah and my son have a sweet heart connection. They sang songs together, read books, played, and laughed a lot. She was never anything but wonderful to him. I would highly recommend Sarah to anyone who wants a responsible, reliable, caring, and experienced babysitter.
