About Santha

I am a MI licensed and ASHA certified Speech-language pathologist with 28 years of full-time experience (and counting) with students age 0-14. Elementary education is my passion, specifically the early impact of language and phonology on literacy. My training and experience as a Success For All (SFA) teacher has furthered my expertise and significant successes in early reading development. My intervention efforts begin with an ongoing analysis of the following key areas: -phonological & phonemic awareness -word decoding & phonics -vocabulary -fluency -comprehension. Listening, speaking, reading and writing skills are interrelated. My professional experience and training allows me to effectively facilitate these areas across core subject areas. After all, comprehension difficulties (poor reading or math concept development) are often the basis of poor student progress. Empowering students and parents to reach their maximum potential is my life's calling.
