Experience: 10 yrs
To Serve with Love and Compassion. Part time to full time. I am currently available 5 days a week, up to 10 hours per shift, 5 out of 7 days per week. I am available from 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. However, I am willing to discuss your particular needs. I have over 20 years of experience. I graduated from an STNA program and have 2 University degrees. I am passionate about working as a senior caregiver/companion. I love working one on one with people. Quickly establishing and maintaining the trust of my client, and their pet, is essential to our relationship. I have worked with a diverse group of people including those that are physically disabled, like neuro-muscular disease, have Alzheimer's, or age-related dementia. Medication reminders, grocery shopping, errands, dr's. appts, and laundry are just some of the services I provide. I have experience in providing activities of daily living, however, most importantly, I provide basic, loving care.
Sandy took loving care of my Mom for 10 years; not only in my Mom's home, but she continued to help after Mom moved to assisted living and still on to skilled nursing. I don't use the word "loving care" as a nice catch phrase. Her care of my Mom was truly very loving. Sandy has a kind, calm and gentle demeanor, she exhibits great patience and doesn't get flustered. It was easy for Mom to trust Sandy from the start because she knew her to be sincere and honest. These qualities are so important in a care giver, especially when they are in your home, and given the intimacy of bathing the client. Mom always felt comfortable with Sandy. Mom always looked forward to having Sandy over. She enjoyed Sandy's help doing crossword puzzles, trying new foods, going for outings and always good conversation. I think even more that that, Mom loved having a good laughing partner in Sandy! Laughter was truly Mom's gift, and they shared in the joy of that. When Mom moved to assisted living Sandy was a great emotional support for her. Mom wanted Sandy to remain with her as their friendship was so important to Mom. And it was to us, too. Sandy was such an important person in Mom's life and care that we invited her to be with us as Mom passed. It was a lovely testament to their relationship, and a blessing that Mom was not only surrounded by her daughters, but also by her "bonus daughter". Sandy did all of the things that were asked of her - light housekeeping and such, took detailed notes, and a lot of etc. Anyone can do those things. But as a caregiver, Sandy excelled in her 'job' because she did it with great love and compassion. She put a smile on Mom's face every.single.day. And THAT is why I recommend Sandy.
