I am newly retired after a career of over 30 years teaching Child Development courses at Grand Valley State University. Prior to my time at GVSU, I was a registered nurse and worked with new mothers and infants in the nursery at St. Mary's Hospital. Moreover, I am the mother of five grown children and an active and energetic grandmother to eight growing grandchildren - I've even gone zip-lining with the older ones! I absolutely love to interact with and be around children of all ages, but especially young ones. I love watching their minds develop as they learn new skills and observe the world around them. My skills and abilities working with children have been honed by daily interactions with them. My nursing background has proved useful not only on a practical basis when caring for my own kids during their sick days, but also in addressing health concerns and questions of friends and family.
