Experience: 10 yrs
Hi there! My name is Sam, and I'm a warm, reliable, and experienced childcare provider with over 10 years experience in care and house management. I grew up in the Greensburg area, and when I was young I started babysitting and volunteering childcare for community events and organizations, eventually picking up part and full time nanny positions. I lived in Boston for four years working full time as a nanny for a family with three, and then four amazing kids. When I left Boston for Albany, NY I continued in childcare and domestic help, working for two families, for 3. 5 and 2. 5 years, respectively. I have experience with siblings, twins, kids with special needs, and newborns, and am a mother to happy, healthy (nearly!) 2-year-old myself now. With an educational background in childhood development and healthcare I bring confidence and a thoughtful approach to my work. I strive to facilitate learning through developmentally appropriate play and exploration.
We give Sam our highest recommendation! Sam was our nanny for almost four years and we were devastated when she moved to NY. Sam was been with us from January of 2013 after the birth of our third child until August of 2016. When she started, our three children were 3years, 2years and 12 weeks old. We then had one more baby and at the time she left she was responsible for all four, aged 6years, 5years, 3years and 6 months old. Sam's responsibilities included school drop off and pick up, feeding, organizing local activities (playground, museum visits, playdates, trips on the subway etc), nap scheduling, lunch and snack preparation, occasional bedtime routines and light housekeeping. Sam is responsible, reliable and competent. She handles everything from crying babies to toddler tantrums to preschooler drama in a calm, unfazed manner. She was able to manage four children with very different needs without issue and we trusted her completely. On a personal level, she is very easy to get along with and has a great sense of humor. Over her years with us, Sam truly became a part of our family. Our children loved her and waited at the window in the mornings for her arrival and hugged and kissed her goodbye every day. We were so sad she moved but wish her the best of luck. Her next family will be very lucky to have her! Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
