experience with kids ages: newborn-11 and up

I have a pretty large family full of many little cousins and nephews, so I babysit all the time My first babysitting job was when I was 8 years old. I watched a 2 and 3-year-old for about 7 hours. After that successful job, I began watching more kids, I can even do overnights if parents take vacations. I watched my two nephews, 1 and 4, for 2 nights/3 days by myself; filled with activities and lots of fun, but also learning! I have been babysitting/nannying newborns for about 6 years. From age 16-18, I worked at an after-school program with kids ages 4-11. I read to them, planned daily activities, supervised and managed the kids. I also cleaned and sanitized and prepped snacks! These groups of kids at this program were filled with 23-25 kids at a time. I have experience with ABA as well :)

Samira was amazing with my kids! She was very sweet, caring, and responsible. My kids loved spending time with her, and I felt comfortable knowing they were in good hands. I would definitely recommend Samira to anyone looking for someone great with kids!

I interviewed this caregiver and specifically discussed her availability before offering her the position.  Although I needed help as soon as possible, I adjusted my schedule so she could begin on a start date and time that worked for her.

On the morning of her scheduled start date, I texted to confirm that she would be arriving, and she confirmed that she would. Shortly afterward, she asked how long I would need her services. I told her I was happy to work with her schedule and asked what duration would be best for her. 

After that, I received no response.

Then, just before her scheduled start time, she sent a incoherent message saying she would not be able to start until several weeks later. The explanation was unclear and came with virtually no notice.

Before posting this review, I attempted to call her to give her an opportunity to explain the situation, but my calls went directly to voicemail. When I called from a different phone number, the call rang normally.

Based on my experience, I found her communication to be unreliable and her handling of the commitment to be inconsiderate of my time. 

If honestly, dependability and clear communication are important to you, I would recommend proceeding with caution. Since these positions involve caring for children, honestly and reliability are especially important.

I’m not sure what Samira’s most recent review is about, but all I know is that it’s the complete opposite of the experience we had with her! She is the most genuine, responsible, and communicative babysitter we have hired on this app! And, we have hired A LOT. She explained the situation from the negative review, and we were shocked that was their response. If only I could continuously leave reviews for Samira! As parents, we often get too caught up to do small tasks, let alone leave good reviews, but after our experience with Samira these past few weeks, we knew we had to share! Not only did my older kids love her, my baby (8 month old) was safe and sound with her. We are visiting from SC and our stay here was made 10x better knowing our kids were well taken care of while we were enjoying our time together as husband and wife. I am definitely going to be recommending her to friends who are coming to visit with their families.  

Samira is a great babysitter, if you can get her to show up. Kids loved playing with her and she was very attentive.  We hired her and let her know upfront our expectations of 3 to 4 hours every weekend either Saturday or Sunday and she was unable to provide that. What is frustrating is she would schedule but end up canceling more often than not. We had her cancel the days before, the day before, 1.5 hours before and finally totally ghost us on the final say we will attempt to hire her. I do not think she is serious about babysitting anymore, and I just wish she would have communicated that instead of letting us down so hard. We are on our second weekend in a row she canceled and that was the 1.5 hours and no communication no show. We attempted to hire her around 10 times and she actually worked 3. Unacceptable. 

Samira was incredibly patient with my 3-month-old. She followed my instructions on helping my daughter self-soothe and recognized her cues. Even with my dog distracting her, she stayed persistent and calm with a tired baby. She also knew the right time for tummy time. My favorite part was when she read books to my daughter, engaging her with facial expressions. As a first-time mom, Samira made me feel comfortable and confident, and I’ll definitely work with her again in the future.

Samira has been an absolutely fantastic babysitter for my two kids! Right from the start, she was warm, attentive, and made both my children feel completely at ease. She engaged them with creative activities, kept them entertained, and handled everything with such care and professionalism.

My kids couldn't stop talking about how much fun they had, and I was impressed by her responsibility and kindness. It was clear that Samira genuinely enjoys spending time with children, and that made such a difference. I highly recommend her to any family looking for a reliable, caring, and fun babysitter. She made the whole experience amazing for us all!

Samira was communicative, reliable and responsible. She was on time and my kids absolutely loved her. We will definitely be using her again.

Samira was so wonderful! She came a week before she was scheduled to babysit to meet our kiddos, and they were both comfortable with her in no time. She is considerate, patient, and kind with our kids (and our dog)! We will definitely hire her again! 

Samira has a very friendly deposition and was amazing with my 1 year old. She came punctual and I definitely would be interested in hiring her again. I couldn't thank her enough for making not only my child very comfortable with her, but us as parents too. We were very pleased.

Samira is great. She was punctual and follows directions/instructions well without supervision needed. She has a super friendly disposition and knows how to work with kids not only to have fun with them but to also gently enforce any rules you may have for your children in a fun way that doesn't upset them. I am definitely hiring her again, my 3 year old daughter loves her and she took great care of her, making sure she had her meal and bath time and clean up time all while having fun in the process!

My entire family loved Samira, including my pups! She is so wonderful and dependable. She followed all directions, and everything went so smoothly.

One word -- AWESOME! My kids loved her, she showed up on time, stayed extra longer as well which we really appreciated, and she was very responsive when we need her last minute.

Super attentive to my kids, they loved being with her. I have no worries while we were gone

Samira was great with my kids. She is especially great with the newborn, but my older kids loved her too. She is great at handling multiple kids at once. She arrived on time, checked in a few days before to confirm and was even able to accommodate with our schedule change. I would hire her again in a heartbeat!

Spoke with Samira and agreed upon the first day to start. I checked in the morning of to reconfirm. Unfortunately, only after I had checked in she informed me that she would be unable to watch my son that night, leaving me without a sitter.

Samira was great! Very communicative in setting up our night job, arrived punctually, kids loved her, everything was taken care of by the time we came home. Would definitely hire again.

Samira was a long time sitter for us, still coming in here or there for a few overnights. She helped me raise my babies :') She is always so great with the kids, and always communicates...sometimes, good reviews go unnoticed once we stick to the bad ones, but this has been long over due. Us moms just get so wrapped up, we forget to leave a good review! I thank her every day for all her help and being so patient with my family. My kids love Samira, and she is always helping around the house.

Samira was so prompt when responding to my interview request. After hearing her great background, we brought her in to meet the kids, and they ADORED her!! She didn't even have to say much--it was the great energy she brought with her. It was an overall great experience from the get-go, the kids were well taken care of and during her downtime, the house was tidied up, laundry was done and the meals for the next day were prepped. She needed very little instruction and handled herself very well. I knew my kids were in good hands.

Samira was a great sitter; she was attentive, dependable, accommodating and such a lovely person to be around. Overall, great energy. She was always willing to stay later/come in earlier and moved around her plans to babysit when she could. We highly recommend her for any of your sitting needs!

Samira did an outstanding job babysitting my two kids. She went above and beyond making sure to tend to the notes I left for the evening as well as even squeezing in time for activities before bed with my two children. She left my kids with a smile on their faces & my house cleaner than when she arrived.
