About Samaya

Hi! I'm a graduate student pursuing my master's degree in biology and currently work as a graduate teaching assistant teaching undergraduate biology labs. Most of my teaching and academic support experience has been at the college level, including working as a Learning Assistant where I supported students one-on-one and in small groups. I would describe myself as patient, encouraging, and understanding. I enjoy helping students work through challenging concepts, build confidence, and find study strategies that work for them. My strongest subject is biology, particularly introductory and college-level biology, but I'm also happy to work with middle and high school students and provide general science or study skills support. Outside of school and teaching, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. My goal as a tutor is to create a comfortable, judgment-free environment where students feel confident asking questions and can become more independent learners.
