About Samantha

Hello! I'm Sam (she/her), & I am looking to provide engaging, flexible, & trauma-informed childcare for families in NYC. I recently relocated to Astoria from Buffalo, NY to pursue my Master's in Mental Health Counseling. I come with 2. 5 years of professional experience in crisis intervention where I provided direct support to individuals, families, & children who had experienced trauma. I have excellent de-escalation, rapport-building, & group facilitation skills. My goal is to help others feel seen, safe, and supported - for childcare, this includes using active listening, promoting learning through play, & providing consistent structure. I also have prior experience with infants 6 months-toddlers 3 y/o. I love to spend time outside, get creative with arts & crafts, and cook new recipes. I'd love to incorporate these interests (& more) into my services! I hope to provide an enriching childcare experience that meets your family's unique needs. I look forward to hearing from you!
