About Samantha

My journey started at 13, babysitting four little girls from my church, ages 8 months to 5 years. One family became many, and somehow that first job grew into a lifetime of teaching, coaching, raising three incredible children, and even one of the most unexpected career jumps, from preschool to prison, teaching high school English to inmates at a Texas correctional facility. I've learned to see potential before performance. Whether it's phonics, homework, college essays, or building the world's greatest blanket fort, I'm all in. My favorite days are the ordinary ones. With my oldest daughter, it's lunch, dreaming about her future, and ice cream. With my son, it's hunting Pokémon on the way to our secret pizza place. With my youngest, Starbucks, Target adventures, and listening while she explains the secrets of the universe. Kids may not remember everything, but they'll always remember how they felt. I try to meet people where they are and leave them a little better than before.
