Hello! My name is Samantha and I am a graduate student pursuing a career in occupational therapy in which I wish to work with children with special needs. I have had a plethora of experiences working with children, in particular working at preschools, internships at schools, teaching swim lessons, and babysitting. In regards to children with special needs, I have spent time volunteering at a special needs kindergarten program as well as a semester at a school for autistic children. I have also taught swim lessons to a child who was mildly autistic. In addition to my hands on experiences, I have taken many psychology courses related to abnormal child development. Personally, I am pursuing a career in occupational therapy because I want to help disabled children to develop to the best of their ability in order to lead fulfilling, happy, healthy lives. I love outdoor activities such as hiking and swimming. When I am not studying, I also enjoy "do it yourself" projects and arts and crafts. My family is also very important to me and I enjoy spending time with them.
