About Sadie

I moved to Maine full time in 2017 to help care for my 99-year-old grandmother. In addition to helping with household cleaning and meal preparation as my grandmothers condition worsened I assisted her with dressing, transfers, and bathing. For as long as she was capable, we played cards, read poetry out loud together, and I listened as she recounted stories from the days of ice deliveries before refrigeration(her favorite innovation). Having grown up in a household where both of my parents have been caregivers it's not hard for me to recognize that helping seniors live at home and with dignity is an incredibly useful thing to do. Aside from care for my grandparents, I have also helped many seniors in the community. Taking them to the grocery store or just for a drive to get out of the house. Bringing them a slice of pie or some soup. Just dropping in to say hello. I genuinely enjoy the company of seniors, have a flexible schedule, and reliable transportation.
