About Sadie

I bring 5+ years of teaching, tutoring, and peer mentoring. I am skilled at translating complex (sometimes quite abstract!) ideas into something students can access. My goal as a teacher is to find ways to help my students connect to what they are learning. Connections are important to learning, not just memorizing, and I want to be sure we're building strong foundations for success in this class and the next! During my training while earning my PhD at Syracuse University, I gained specific experience in teaching general chemistry (1 and 2), intro chemistry labs, medicinal chemistry, and intro biochem (1 and 2), and advanced structural physical biochem. While there I also earned two teaching awards, one at the department level and the other at the university level, for the work I put in to build inclusive classrooms and tailor material so my students could access complex ideas and find success in my classes!
