About Sabrina

I am a certified teacher with a literacy/reading focus, who recently graduated from Illinois State University, and have several tutoring experiences working the children from the kindergarten to school-age range. While completing my year-long student teaching as a fourth grade teacher in CPS, I facilitated tutoring for reading and math for all of fourth grade, before and after school. Throughout that time, I also created Common Core based curriculum that was integrated throughout math, reading, science and social studies. In addition, I designed and implement 6th grade science lessons using SEPUP Science curriculum in the Chicago Public Schools. During the summer, I also co-taught 6th grade reading curriculum using the CPS summer Bridge program and Madero Middle School. Some informal learning experiences include working as a summer inclusion aide for students with special needs in the northwest suburban park district programs, working as a teacher's assistant in a day-care/preschool setting, teaching plant-based culinary skills for children and teaching group/private tennis lessons.
