About Rylie

My passion for teaching drives me to create engaging, inclusive learning experiences that build confidence in students. I hold a Bachelor's in Biological Systems Engineering from UC Davis, specializing in environmental engineering and regenerative agriculture, and played Division I lacrosse. I later earned a Master's in Teaching and a Multiple Subject Credential from USC, focusing on educational equity and STEM. With over 10 years of nannying and teaching experience, I've worked with children of all ages, from infants to undergraduates at UC Santa Cruz and Cabrillo College. I substitute teach in Santa Cruz and San Jose and especially enjoy working with ages 8-17 through Hero Journey Club, where I facilitate conversations on mental health and social-emotional growth. I also have experience supporting English language learners and neurodivergent children, creating safe, empowering environments. Outside of teaching, I love camping, gardening, sports, and time with my wife and four cats!
