I have been working in the childcare field for many years as I own and operate an in-home child care business. For some time now I have been interested in working with the elderly, however. I have several friends who are caring for their aging parents, and it is such a complex situation. I just feel like I would love to care for older people, run errands for them, listen to them, help them in their homes or with whatever they need. My church had a ministry to the nursing homes, and I felt so "at home" with this population; it felt so good to make someone's day brighter just by assisting them or listening to them, singing with them, reading to them, feeding them, loving them.
