About Ruth

We were fortunate enough to have Ruth as the weekend caregiver for my mom who has later stages dementia and severe vertigo. Ruth would also fill in during the week as needed, sometimes at a moments notice .. driving from the east side to the north. Anyone who knows that traffic during the week knows what that meant to us that we could count on her even in those circumstances. Ruth's superbly gentle, calming and caring nature was something my mom took to right away, ensuring she felt at ease and safe. She always worked diligently to keep the daily schedule which is so important for a dementia patient. From medication administration, meal times, toileting and rest times, Ruth strives to keep that same daily routine. The care of my mom at times could be a challenge, however Ruth took those times in stride and still provided the same gentle and patient care. Her cheerful outlook and personality brightened our days even on the most challenging days. Sadly, my mom has come to a point that she needs more care than we can provide at home so we must say goodbye to Ruth. We will miss her; to the next person who is lucky enough to come across her as they are looking for help with their loved one, do not hesitate, people like Ruth are hard to come by. We can't thank her enough for all she has done for us.
