About Roxanne

Hello, My name is Roxanne and I have been working in the human services field for just over 10 years. The area most dear to my heart is assisting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In 2002 I made a decision to get a bachelor's degree in the human services counseling field because my 2-year-old nephew had just been diagnosed with autism. In 2008 I worked with an 8-year-old nonverbal boy, and right now I am working with a 6-year-old girl carrying an autism diagnosis. The PECS system was the learning tool of choice within the little boy's home, and the little girl's parents and I assist with a load of positive behavior support, a limited amount of PECS, some ASL, as many learning avenues as is feasible in a day, and a constant search for reward material. I also support adults with a multitude of diagnoses to include autism, intellectual disabilities, schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, depression, ADD, and more.
