About Roshan

Hello, I'm Roshan, a third year math major at Cal Poly SLO and a math, physics, and SAT tutor for middle and high school students. I began tutoring AP Calculus and AP Physics at 16. Having taken these courses recently myself, I can understand where students get stuck. Often, students fall behind not because the material is too hard, but because studying well is its own skill, and one that is rarely taught directly. Alongside the subjects, I teach the skills: studying through active problem solving rather than passive rereading, sustaining focus despite constant distraction, and distinguishing genuine understanding from mere familiarity. These are the habits that will stick during college and beyond! Outside tutoring, I am researching the combinatorics of placing non-attacking kings on a chessboard and I am also studying for the Putnam.
